Medical Dermatology

Expert diagnosis for healthier skin.

Chronic and complex skin conditions deserve an accurate diagnosis before any treatment begins. Our consultants assess, investigate and plan care that is proportionate and sustainable.

Overview

Diagnosis first, treatment second.

Medical dermatology at Aurevia covers the full range of skin, hair and nail disease. Many patients arrive after months of trial-and-error with over-the-counter products; our role is to establish what is actually happening in the skin and treat that.

Where a condition is chronic, we plan for the long term — flare management, maintenance therapy and clear guidance on what to do between appointments.

How Care Works

Symptoms that should be assessed.

Persistent rashes, changing moles, unexplained itching, scarring acne, sudden hair loss or nail changes warrant specialist review rather than continued self-treatment.

  1. 01

    Clinical history

Symptoms, duration, triggers, prior treatment, medical background and how the condition affects daily life.

  2. 02

    Examination and dermoscopy

Structured examination of affected areas, with dermoscopy where lesions or scalp disease require magnified assessment.

  3. 03

    Investigations when indicated

Skin swabs, scrapings, patch testing, blood tests or biopsy may be recommended to confirm a diagnosis.

  4. 04

    Treatment plan and follow-up

A written plan with realistic timelines, and a review appointment to assess response and adjust therapy.
